Rachel's Graduation Day

On 13 June 2009 Daddy, Mommy, Ai Nono and Cus attended Rachel's graduation day. All of us were very excited to join the celebration. Rachel looked very pretty with the graduation dress. All the kids of TK B1 and parents were all ready at school with the happy faces. All the teacher were busy making sure that all kids were ready for the ceremony. Mommy took a lot of photos for all the moments before the ceremony started.

At exactly 9 AM the ceremony started with TKB kids' academic proccesion. The kids walked down the red carpet in a neat line showing serious faces. Mommy couldn't hold the tears watching Rachel among her friends. My sweet daughter is not a little girl anymore. She looked so grown up and seems ready to face the future. Her angel face looked very sweet and I am so proud of her. Daddy shouted 'I love you Rachel !!!' but Rachel sticked with the rule. The teachers repetitively told them to be serious during the academic procession.

When her name was announced, Rachel walked confidently to the podium to receive the medal, a certificate and a stalk of rose from the teachers. Rachel knew that Daddy, Mommy, Ai Nono and Suster were there watching her, so she gave her best performance to make all of us very proud of her.

All the kids of TKB did a singing performance for the parents and the teachers. They could sing clearly and loudly all the songs such as "If we hold on together", "Auld lang syne", "Top of the world" and "Guruku". Two thumbs ups to all the teachers who already taught them to sing those song - it was not a simple job.

At the end of ceremony, Mommy, Daddy and Ai Nono gave Rachel a big surprise in the form of a bunch of flowers. And of course Rachel was very happy and she loved the flowers. And she knew that Mommy did the bouquet especially for her. Hehehe.....

Rachel also gave flowers to Miss Dewi, Miss Lusi, Miss Rere, Miss Stella, and Cia Lau Shi. All of them had given Rachel years of fun, days full of caring and love. Rachel love them very much and she would like to express it with the flowers.

Santa Laurensia Kindergarden is a good school for Rachel. At this school, she has learned many things, had valuable experience, learned how to be independent and exercise discipline for 5 years. The memories surely remain in Rachel's mind.

Mommy and Daddy are very proud of you, Rachel. Keep learning, be a good girl, keep the spirit and don't ever give up !!!!

Rachel - Nice vs naughty

When Rachel is a nice girl, she always says : "Ya, Mommy...!!!!" whenever Mommy asks her to do something. However, she can be really naughty sometimes and refuses to listen to Mommy. She can create thousands of excuses and give Mommy headaches. These are the few memorable occasions.

Mommy : "Rachel, it's time to sleep !!! Hurry !"
Rachel : "Wait, Mommy. I'm still watching Handy Manny..!"
or
Rachel: "I don't want to sleep now..."

Mommy : Don't eat krupuk too many, Rachel.. only 5 OK ?" (small krupuk)
Rachel: "Can I have more, Mom... ? 3 more ??? Please..please...."

Mommy : "Time to take a shower, Rachel... hurry !!"
Rachel : "5 more minutes, Mom... please..."

Mommy : "Rachel, let's practice piano !"
Rachel : "Mom...later please ! Let me finish watching My Friend, Tigger and Pooh first ! That's my favorite, Mom.... after this ya, Mom ?"
or ...
Rachel : "Mom, I'm sleepy !!! Can we practice piano tomorrow instead ??"

Mommy : "You have to practice writing, Rachel... Try to copy 10 sentences, OK ?"
Rachel : "Mom.... I'm tired.. what about 5 sentences? Ok, Mom ???"

Mommy : "Rachel...don't play with water in the garden...!"
Rachel : "Mom... can I take a shower here...???" (and of course Rachel ended up taking a shower in the garden )

When Mommy got angry with Rachel, Rachel would feel sad...and she'd cry...and she would give Mommy a big hug..and she'd always say: "I love you, Mom.. don't be angry, Mom... I promise I won't do it again..."

Whenever Mommy gave Rachel a punishment not to watch TV, Rachel always calls Mommy at work ... "Mom, I've already practiced piano"... or ... "Mom, I've already written 10 sentences".... "Can I watch TV now?"

That's my little Rachel... no matter whether you are a nice girl or a naughty girl, you are still Mommy's cute little girl. Hehehe

Happy Birthday, Mommy !

Yesterday was Mommy's birthday ! The first surprise of the day were a hug and a kiss from Rachel first thing in the morning. When Mommy asked Rachel about the present, Rachel just said with a big smile.... " The CAKE, Mommy !!!" Hihihi... Oh Rachel..we ordered the cake together 2 days ago so Mommy already knew!.. But Mommy loves the cake very much. Thank you, Rachel...

We celebrated the birthday at home after Mommy and Daddy came home. Rachel was very excited blowing the candles, and cutting the cake. She sang "Happy birthday" loudly for Mommy and it turned out that Rachel had another present for Mommy... a little lovely note : 'Rachel loves Mommy' and ' Happy Birthday Mommy' :) Mommy was really touched by this simple but honest gift. I will keep it, darling. Thank you and I love you too.

Rachel the Baker

Mommy and Ai Nono decided that we are not going to malls every Saturdays. Therefore, we planned to have activity in the house, and remembered that Rachel wants to learn to bake cakes. On one friday morning, Mommy called ai nono to ask about Brownies Kukus ( the steamed brownies ) and plan to make one tomorrow.

Ai nono came with the mixer, mould and recipe on saturday morning, and Mommy has bought the material from the market. Rachel was so excited. She carefully measured the flour, butter, sugar, coccoa powder and then mixed them patiently. And then, she also tried to break 5 eggs successfully into the mixer bowl. Later, she shifted the flour, and gradually spoon them into the mixer, too. When the dough was ready, Rachel also scooped it to the mould by herself. Can you imagine the chaos in the kitchen by then ? wink wink .... but we made it. We had very nice brownies kukus, and later, daddy bought vanilla ice cream for the topping....
Sounds delicious... hmmmm..... Mommy even brought the brownies two days in a row for her breakfast in the bus to the office.
